Non-selective catheter placements and stents

Question:

Dear Dr. Z: It just came to my attention that non-selective catheter placement is not billable with stent placement codes 37205, 37206. It is unusual for the stent to be placed on the same side as vacular access but is it incorrect to bill 36299 for non-selective venous catheter placement when a stent is placed in an extremity vein (no diagnostic venogram is performed)?
