Staged coronary interventions

Question:

If a cardiologist performs a left heart cath with coronary stent placement on Monday 12/19/11 and brings the same patient back on a different date 12/21/11 and deploys another stent in a different vessel family; Can we only bill for the coronary stent placement for the second encounter on the 21st or is there a modifier that can be used like: stage procedure modifier codes 58 or 78?
