Study description: Patient was prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion. Versed and fentanyl used for conscious sedation. Access was obtained to right popliteal vein using ultrasound guidance with micropuncture needle and a 8 French sheath was placed using modified Seldinger technique. 0.35 support catheter was advanced into the right common femoral vein perform selective venography and subsequently Glidewire was a advanced into the subclavian which was exchanged for Supra core wire. Following this with dilated popliteal venous access site for 13 French clot retriever. Two passes were made with retrieval of significant thrombus predominantly in the mid to distal and popliteal vein. Completion angiography showed no significant residual clot. Figure of eight suture was placed for achieving hemostasis no immediate periprocedural complications.
