Unusual case - Thoracic aorta stent at area of lung CA

Date: Nov 18, 2021

Question:

This is an unusual case. Would you report thoracic stent with 37236/36200-RT or 33881?

"INDICATIONS FOR PROCEDURE: A large lung tumor adjacent to the aorta. Treatment planning is ablation of the tumor and concern of resulting aortic injury and possible extravasation/exsanguination. I was asked to place a covered stent in the area so as to protect the thoracic aorta from bleeding at time of lung tumor ablation.

DESCRIPTION OF PROCEDURE: A transverse incision was made over the right common femoral artery. Artery was dissected and controlled. Patient was given 8000 units of IV heparin. A 7 French sheath was introduced followed by wire needle and angio catheter into the thoracic aorta. Thoracic aortogram was done to identify the level of the subclavian artery and the tumor. We then positioned the thoracic covered stent graft in the area of the tumor extending 5 cm both proximal and distal to the tumor. Upon completion of this, there was good flow within the aorta."
