Whether it is a stroke protocal or provider just orders an MRI & MRA of head, can you elaborate on what would be seen as separate and distinct in a technical study when these are performed at the same encounter to justify both CPTs with a modifier? The radiologist provides a report for the MRI and a separate report for the MRA. The clinical indications from the ordering provider are often the same diagnosis.
