"Redo median sternotomy for ascending aortic aneurysm repair, with debranching of the great vessels using Hemashield platinum vascular graft under deep hypothermic circulatory arrest. Circulatory arrest was done using protocol. Head was circumferentially wrapped with ice. Hemashield graft with multiple branches was opened. The distal end of the graft was beveled to fit the hemiarch. The graft was oriented so that the side branches for the great vessels are laid on the superior vena cava side. The distal end of the ascending aorta was reinforced with a felt strip on the outside. Branch of the graft was then cut to appropriate length. It was then anastomosed to the left subclavian artery. Middle side branch of the graft was then cut to appropriate length. It was then anastomosed to the left common carotid artery. Proximal side branch of the graft was then cut to appropriate length.
