C9600 and C9601?

Date: Oct 23, 2018

Question:

Patient underwent drug-eluting stent of a stenosis in the proximal to mid LCX. She also underwent drug-eluting stent to a stenosis in the proximal first OM. First a stent was placed from the proximal LCX to the proximal first OM. Then the second stent was placed from the proximal to mid LCX. From the anatomical diagram in the cath report it is clear that the first stent covered a portion of the LCX lesion as well as the entire OM lesion. Would you consider what was done to be two separate interventions (C9600 and C9601)? Or would you code only one intervention here (C9600)? Could you please explain?
