Drain placement following hip joint aspiration
Question:
Would this be reported with codes 20610 and 10030 for the drain placement? I'm not sure if it meets the definition for 10030 (soft tissue).
"Indication: Left hip septic joint and abscesses. Technique: The hip abscess was accessed percutaneously under intermittent CT guidance using a 5 French Yueh needle and catheter. Initial aspiration revealed purulent joint fluid. A sample was submitted for laboratory analysis. A 10.2 French multipurpose drain was then placed over wire after serial dilation of the tissue tract. The wire was removed and pigtail formed. Final drain position was confirmed with non-contrast CT. CT images are available in PACS. The drain was secured to the skin using suture, and a sterile dressing was applied. The drain was connected to drainage bag. The patient tolerated the procedure well without immediate complication."
