Non-Vascular Interventional Coding: Part 2 The second in our two-part series on percutaneous non-vascular interventional procedural coding, this webinar focuses on percutaneous biopsies, abscess and cyst drainages, and tumor ablations. The coding rules surrounding each are discussed, with specific examples included. The differences between a needle aspiration and a biopsy are explained, along with the difference in coding the two types of biopsies. Procedures supporting abscess drainage, such as drainage tube placement, aspiration of the abscess, imaging evaluation of the abscess cavity, drainage tube replacement, etc. are extensively discussed. The differences between abscess drainage and cyst aspiration procedures and their respective coding rules are included.
