Course Descriptions – Webinar Series

2010 Webinar series from ZHealth Publishing

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 - Basic Catheter Selections
This webinar starts with basics to help successfully choose the correct catheter selection codes during complex diagnostic and interventional cases. It focuses on physician documentation, anatomy (normal and variant), vascular systems, vascular orders, families, and selective vs. non-selective catheter positions.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010 - Diagnostic Peripheral Angiography
This webinar builds on the coding basics again, discussing physician documentation and reviewing catheter selection codes, but also focuses on the imaging supervision and interpretation (S&I) 70,000 series of CPT codes. It covers extremity, visceral, cervicocerebral, thoracic, and abdominal arterial studies. It also briefly reviews venous, pulmonary, and portal venous imaging codes as well.

Tuesday, February 02, 2010 - Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 1
First in a three-part series on peripheral vascular interventions, this webinar concentrates on the backbone of vascular interventions: angioplasty, atherectomy, and vascular stent placement. Each of these interventions is discussed in detail with coding of sample cases included. The current rules for reporting multiple services provided in the same encounter are discussed. Both native vessel and graft vessel interventions are included as well.

Tuesday, February 09, 2010 - Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 2
Second in our three-part series on peripheral vascular interventions, this webinar concentrates on embolotherapy, percutaneous thrombectomy, and infusion therapy (both thrombolytic and non-thrombolytic). The discussion includes guidelines for interventions on native vessels as well as graft vessels. Coding of the procedures are examined as stand-alone procedures, as well as when performed with other interventions.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 3
Third in the three-part series on peripheral vascular interventions, this webinar concentrates on endovascular stent grafts and venous interventions. Thoracic and abdominal aortic stent grafts, as well as iliac stent grafts, are discussed. In addition, rules for the coding of interventions performed in veins, such as TIPS, filter placement, ablations, and others, are explored.

Tuesday, March 02, 2010 - Vascular Interventional Case Reviews: Expert Level
This webinar is designed for the intermediate to high level coder with experience and a good background of coding basics for interventional radiology. It will be based entirely on a review of complex case reports, which will be available prior to the webinar for individual review. The webinar will then focus on a discussion of the correct codes and how they were selected.

Tuesday, March 09, 2010 - CIRCC Exam Prep
This webinar is designed to help the individual planning to take the exam for the CIRCC (Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder) credential, offered by the AAPC. It covers exam logistics, breakdown, some basic content, as well as test taking strategies.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - Cardiology - Diagnostic Cardiology Coding: Part 1
This webinar covers the many different types of heart catheterization codes in use, as well as the injection and imaging codes. It also covers intravascular ultrasound, pressure wire, and intracardiac echocardiography.

Tuesday, April 06, 2010 - Cardiology - Interventional Cardiology Coding: Part 2
This webinar covers percutaneous cardiac interventions performed in the cardiac catheterization lab. This includes all coronary artery interventions such as stent placement, PTCA, atherectomy, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, and chamber interventions such as atrial and ventricular defect closure and valve repair.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010 - Cardiology - Peripherals in the Catheterization Lab: Part 3
This webinar focuses on peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization lab. Major areas covered include catheter selections, imaging, angioplasty, atherectomy, stent placement, and thrombolysis.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010 - Cardiology - Electrophysiology (EP), Pacemaker, and Defibrillator Coding: Part 4
This webinar covers electrophysiologic testing including mapping, pharmacologic challenge, and ablation. It also covers pacemaker and defibrillator insertions, revisions, and removals; lead revisions; and defibrillation testing.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010 - Cardiology Case Reviews: Expert Level
This webinar is designed for the intermediate to high level coder with experience and a good background of coding basics for cardiology. It will be based entirely on a review of complex case reports, which will be available prior to the webinar for individual review. The webinar will then focus on a discussion of the correct codes and how they were selected.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 - Dialysis Access Coding
This webinar covers creation, assessment, and maintenance of dialysis grafts. It includes anatomy, discussion of the different types of shunts and fistulae, as well as percutaneous and open interventions most frequently utilized.

Tuesday, May 25, 2010 - Neurointerventional Coding
This webinar covers procedures in the subspecialty area of neuroradiology. These are complex endovascular procedures that involve vascular imaging and intervention in the head, neck, and spine. Carotid, vertebral, and intracranial stenting; intracranial angioplasty; vasospasm therapy; embolization procedures; venous sampling; thrombolysis; papaverine and verapamil infusion; and arterial thrombectomy are covered.

Tuesday, September 07, 2010 - Non-Vascular Interventional Coding: Part 1
The first in our two-part series on percutaneous non-vascular interventional procedural coding, this webinar focuses on gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and biliary procedures. Biliary and nephrostomy drainage tube placement, replacement, and all maintenance procedures; feeding tube placement, replacement, and maintenance; biliary and ureteral stent placement, removal, and replacement; and other procedures performed percutaneously such as stone removal, dilation, conversion, etc. are covered in this webinar.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010 - Non-Vascular Interventional Coding: Part 2
The second in our two-part series on percutaneous non-vascular interventional procedural coding, this webinar focuses on percutaneous biopsies, abscess and cyst drainages, and tumor ablations. The coding rules surrounding each are discussed, with specific examples included. The differences between a needle aspiration and a biopsy are explained, along with the difference in coding the two types of biopsies. Procedures supporting abscess drainage, such as drainage tube placement, aspiration of the abscess, imaging evaluation of the abscess cavity, drainage tube replacement, etc. are extensively discussed. The differences between abscess drainage and cyst aspiration procedures and their respective coding rules are included. The types of tumor ablation procedures performed and the coding guidelines for each are also covered.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010 - Pediatric Cardiology Coding
This webinar broadly covers cardiac catheterizations, imaging, and interventions in patients with congenital heart defects. It includes a discussion of common congenital syndromes, as well as pertinent anatomy. It also includes discussion of the appropriate coding of peripheral procedures that may be performed in conjunction with congenital heart catheterizations.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010 - 2011 Updates for Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, & Endovascular Surgery
This webinar covers new CPT codes created for 2011, as well as any major changes or revisions regarding controversial or hot topics.
