| January 20, 2009 | Coding Basics for Interventional Radiology – Orders, Families and Catheter Selections |
This Webinar will start with basics to help successfully choose the correct catheter selection codes during complex diagnostic and interventional cases. It will focus on physician documentation, anatomy – normal and variant, vascular systems, vascular orders, families, and selective versus non-selective catheter positions. |
| January 27, 2009 | Diagnostic Peripheral Angiography |
This Webinar will build on the coding basics again, discussing physician documentation and reviewing catheter selection codes, but will focus on the imaging supervision and interpretation (S&I) 70,000 series of CPT codes. It will cover extremity, visceral, cervicocerebral, thoracic, and abdominal arterial studies. It will also briefly review venous, pulmonary and portal venous imaging codes as well. |
| February 10, 2009 | Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 1 |
First in a three-part series on peripheral vascular interventions, this Webinar concentrates on the backbone of vascular interventions: Angioplasty, Atherectomy, and Vascular Stent Placement. Each of these interventions will be discussed in detail with coding of sample cases included. The current rules for reporting multiple services provided in the same encounter will be discussed. Both native vessel and graft vessel interventions will be included. |
| February 17, 2009 | Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 2 |
Second in our three-part series on peripheral vascular interventions, this Webinar concentrates on Embolotherapy, Percutaneous Thrombectomy, and Infusion Therapy, both Thrombolytic and Non-Thrombolytic. The discussion will include guidelines for interventions on native vessels as well as graft vessels. Coding of the procedures will be examined as stand-alone procedures as well as when performed with other interventions. |
| March 3, 2009 | Peripheral Vascular Intervention: Part 3 |
Third in the three-part series on peripheral vascular interventions, this Webinar concentrates on Endovascular Stent Grafts and Venous Interventions. Thoracic and abdominal aortic stent grafts, as well as iliac stent grafts are discussed. In addition, rules for the coding of interventions performed in the veins, such as TIPS, filter placement, ablations, and others are explored. |
| March 31, 2009 | CIRCC Review* Special Price of $99 |
The Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) is a new, national coding credential. It is designed to validate the coder’s or technologist’s knowledge in this complex area that spans the IR lab, cardiac cath lab, and vascular suites, often combining cardiac and peripheral cases. This Webinar will break down the CIRCC credential and exam. The logistics of the exam will be examined as well as an in-depth analysis of the types of questions and subject matter covered. Some basic concepts pertinent to the exam as well as sample questions will be discussed. Lastly, strategies to help successfully pass the exam will be reviewed. *The CIRCC Review Webinar is being offered at a special price for those individuals planning on taking the CIRCC exam. |
| April 14, 2009 | Dialysis Access Coding |
This Webinar will discuss creation, assessment, and maintenance of dialysis grafts. It will include anatomy, discussion of the different types of shunts and fistulas, as well as percutaneous and open interventions most frequently utilized. It will also cover central venous access catheters. |
| April 21, 2009 | Neurointerventional Coding |
This Webinar will cover procedures in the subspecialty area of neuroradiology. These are complex endovascular procedures that involve vascular imaging and intervention in the head, neck and spine. Included in the talk are carotid, vertebral, and intracranial stenting; intracranial angioplasty; vasospasm therapy; embolization procedures; venous sampling; thrombolysis; papaverine and verapamil infusion; and arterial thrombectomy. |
| May 12, 2009 | Diagnostic Cardiology Coding |
This Webinar will cover the many different types of heart catheterization codes in use, as well as the injection and imaging codes. It will also cover coronary artery interventions, including angioplasty, atherectomy, stent placement, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, intravascular ultrasound, and pressure wire procedures of the coronary vessels. In addition, combined diagnostic peripheral angiography, such as renals, carotids and run-offs, will be discussed. |
| May 19, 2009 | Interventional Cardiology Coding |
This Webinar will cover percutaneous cardiac interventions performed in the cardiac catheterization lab. This includes all coronay artery interventions such as stent placement, PTCA, atherectomy, thrombectomy, thrombolysis and chamber interventions such as atrial and ventricular defect closure and valve repair. Supporting procedures such as intravascular ultrasound and Doppler will also be discussed. |
| September 8, 2009 | Electrophysiology (EP), Pacemaker, and Defi brillator Coding |
This Webinar covers electrophysiologic testing including mapping, pharmacologic challenge, and ablation. It will also cover pacemaker and defibrillator insertions, revisions, and removals, lead revisions, as well as defibrillation testing. |
| September 22, 2009 | Pediatric Cardiology Coding |
This Webinar will broadly cover cardiac catheterizations, imaging, and interventions in patients with congenital heart defects. It will include a discussion of common congenital syndromes and pertinent anatomy as well. |
| October 13, 2009 | Non-Vascular Interventional Coding: Part 1 (GI-GU-Biliary) |
This is Part 1 of a two-part series on percutaneous non-vascular interventional procedure coding. This Webinar focuses on gastro-intestinal, genito-urinary and biliary procedures. The topics that will be covered include biliary and nephrostomy drainage tube placement, replacement, and all drainage tube maintenance procedures; feeding tube placement, replacement and maintenance; biliary and ureteral stent placement, removal, and replacement; and other procedures performed percutaneously such as stone removal, dilation, conversion, etc. |
| October 20, 2009 | Non-Vascular Interventional Coding: Part 2 (Biopsies, Drainages, & Ablations) |
Part 2 in the two-part series on percutaneous non-vascular interventional procedure coding focuses on percutaneous biopsies, abscess and cyst drainages, and tumor ablations. The coding rules surrounding each will be discussed with specific examples included. The difference between a needle aspiration and a biopsy will be explained along with the difference in coding the two types of biopsies. Procedures supporting abscess drainage, such as drainage tube placement, aspiration of the abscess, imaging evaluation of the abscess cavity, drainage tube replacement, etc., will be extensively discussed. The differences between abscess drainage and cyst aspiration procedures and their respective coding rules will be included. The types of tumor ablation procedures performed and the coding guidelines for each will also be covered. |
| TBD December 2009 | 2010 Updates for Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, & Endovascular Surgery |
This Webinar will primarily discuss new CPT codes created for 2010. Any major changes or revisions regarding controversial or hot topics will also be discussed. |
